Brooklyn, NY - New York Area Chair Mike Eldridge has come out of the blocks with dizzying speed to start 2005, crossing the 100-mile mark with a week still left in January. Pooling his mileage with brother Ed, Mike hopes to cover (virtually) the 2,175 miles of the Appalachian Trail this year. Thus far the duo is on pace, with much of the early success due to Mike's tearing up of the streets in NYC. Mayor Bloomberg apparently has lodged an official complaint about the potential for road damage, but has been drowned out by overwhelming support from the New York City Council. Apparently Mike's efforts are so reliable that the city has yet to plow the Williamsburg Bridge once this winter - Mike's shuffling has kept the roadway clear!

Bedford, NH - Pachyderm Racing co-founder Ed Eldridge appears to have put his slothful 2004 ways behind him, having jumped out in January with over 75 miles of work. Bitter cold and tons of snow have forced Ed to do most of this work on the treadmill, but as the weather improves he hopes to escape the basement confines and rediscover the magic of life on the roads. Now 3 1/2 years removed from his first marathon, Ed realizes that the shine has worn off and that it's time to challenge himself anew. Well, that and the knowledge that he'll take serious heat from Mike if he bails on this mileage challenge two years in a row...

Pembroke, NH - The Pachyderm Racing Team gives a shout out to co-founder Laura Eldridge and NH District Manager Kim Harriman, mostly to see if either of them is awake. Anxious to have you back on the trail with us!
